Me & the Bees Lemonade is a socially conscious, all-natural beverage company known for its commitment to sustainability and support of bee populations. We aim to create delicious, better-for-you lemonades that taste great and contribute positively to our environment and communities.
Me & the Bees Lemonade was founded by Mikaila Ulmer in 2009 when she was just 4.5 years old. She is supported by her family, a great team, investor partners, and all the “Bee-lievers” who have supported the business over the years.
Actually, YOU help save the bees with every purchase you make of our lemonade. Proceeds from our sales go to fund initiatives to protect the bees, embodying Me & the Bees' mission to make a positive difference in the world.
The Healthy Hive Foundation is a non-profit organization that Mikaila started to save our pollinators. Its mission is to save all bees through education, research, and protection and to inspire social entrepreneurship. Learn more about the Healthy Hive Foundation here.
Yes, Me & the Bees Lemonade is a certified National Minority Supplier.

We have five fun and functional all-natural ready-to-drink flavors that tempt your taste buds: Classic, Passion Fruit, Black Cherry, and our newest additions, Passion Fruit and Very Berry. Crafted with U.S. Grade-A honey and flaxseed for added nutrients, they all promise a burst of fresh fruit in every sip.
Flaxseed is a wonder seed that comes from one of the oldest fiber crops in the world—known to have been cultivated in ancient Egypt and Asia. It is a source of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, and modern research suggests that flaxseed can also help lower the risk of diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.
We are always looking to identify and deliver on trends we are constantly studying to meet evolving shopper needs. Of course, we look for flavors that pair well with lemons, have broad appeal, and are associated with health benefits.
Me & the Bees Lemonade is produced in a state-of-the-art commercial food processing facility in the U.S.
It is indeed all-natural. Our premium ready-to-drink lemonades are GMO-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and free of high fructose corn syrup, and they are made without artificial ingredients.
Yes, our lemonade is pasteurized. It is heated to an elevated temperature for a very short time to ensure it is safe to consume.
Me & the Bees Lemonade requires refrigeration only after opening.
We are dedicated to environmental stewardship and community support. Our products are crafted with quality ingredients and packaged sustainably to minimize ecological impact.
After a lot of research and deliberation, we switched over to 100% recyclable cans because they Infinitely recyclable and require significantly less energy to produce and recycle than glass.
Offering consumers the same great taste, this change is a greener alternative that supports energy conservation, reduces water consumption and waste, and prioritizes convenience and portability. Produced in the U.S., our new sleek 12-ounce cans have superior thermal conductivity, ensuring beverages chill quickly and stay refreshingly cold—perfect for enjoying Me & the Bees Lemonade on any occasion.
This conscious choice aligns perfectly with growing consumer preferences for sustainable packaging. Did you know consumers recycle cans 20% more than they recycle glass containers? Plus, the sleek-can format is ideal for on-the-go consumption, making it easier to enjoy our variety of lemonade flavors anywhere, whether it is at music festivals, camping, tailgating, or anywhere, really.
For a short period of time, we will have both bottles and cans as we transition to all cans.
Yes, Me & the Bees is still sweetened with all-natural U.S. Grade-A honey in addition to sugar, as Great-Granny Helen’s original flaxseed lemonade called for.
Our goal is to strike a balance between sweet and tart by using all-natural grade-A pure honey and sugar. Our lemonades have between 27-30 grams of sugar per 8-ounce serving, depending on the flavor, which is generally less than other ready-to-drink beverages.
Part of the product legacy comes from Mikaila’s great grandmother’s recipe. To make sure the true lemonade flavor shines through, we use a combination of sugar -to honor the original recipe of Great Granny Helen- and honey -to honor our mission of helping save the bees. We have, however, modified the original recipe to provide an option with less sugar overall.
